Monodisperse spray drying technologyNanomi has recently developed a novel approach to microsphere fabrication: microsieve™-enabled monodisperse spray drying. Here conventional spray drying is combined with microsieve™ nozzle technology (developed together with our sister company, Medspray) to produce well-defined functional micro- and nanoparticles for the life sciences with a predictable and uniform particle size. This method combines the advantages of conventional spray drying but overcomes its limitations concerning polydispersity and particle uniformity by delivering controlled and uniform particle sizes, enabled by the unique benefits of microsieve™ nozzle technology. |

Results demonstrate that monodisperse spray drying by using microsieve™ spray chips provides better performance than current standard spraying methods, such as ultrasonic nozzle technology. For example, PLGA particles and Maltodextrine particles with a Span < 0.6 have been produced by Nanomi's monodisperse spray drying technology. This is a significant improvement compared to particle size distributions that can be obtained with commercial ultrasonic nozzles (Span of approx. 1.5). |
