As part of the expansion of our R&D team, we are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Formulation Scientist! You like to play a leading role in the scientific development of our products and take the lead in the development of our complex injectables products in the very early development phase, setting the foundations for success! Responsibilities

You will be actively involved in novel formulation development and innovative technology evaluations. You will provide technical leadership and will act as subject matter expertise (SME) in the development of formulations. As a Senior Formulation Scientist you will lead, design, plan, execute and review scientific experiments and documentation, as well as statistical analysis and interpretation of the results in the development of drug product formulations. You will report and present scientific/technical results to management or to external partners.

In addition, you will support establishing and improving internal procedures. Also, you will actively participate in knowledge exchange, train, mentor and coach a team of engineers and technicians. As SME, you will be working as a member of a cross-functional pharmaceutical science, (pre)clinical and CMC project teams in close collaboration with other formulation engineers, lab technicians and students.

You will keep the team up to date with relevant scientific literature and you will follow and study external developments in the field, and implement them into the organization if it adds value.

What do you bring?

• A PhD degree in a relevant field of Pharmaceutics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related scientific disciplines
• Typically you bring 5-10 years of industrial experience in the field of (bio-)pharmaceuticals (preferred), medical devices, food, or biomaterials.
• Excellent communication skills (written and spoken) fluent in English.
• Strong background in formulation development of (complex) injectables, characterization and good understanding of analytical chemistry.
• Understanding of QbD, and patents
• Ability to quickly adapt to different project requirements, proactively and autonomously finding technical solutions, and exploring new approaches.
• Basic understanding of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics is a plus.
